Think of a time when you really
felt cared for. Chances are someone focused on
what you had to say, was attentive to your needs,
and listened to how you felt instead of telling
you how you should feel or what you should do.
While being a Stephen Minister requires commitment
of time and effort, it also brings joy and fulfillment.
It may be one of the most rewarding challenges
you will ever embrace. In addition, you will
use the skills you learn not only in your caring
ministry but in your daily life. A new training
class for Stephen Ministers begins September
10th. If you feel you could be the person giving
care to a person in crisis, please contact Rev.
Melinda Jones 770-998-2000 ext. 242. |

Have you ever been in a desperate situation
and needed someone to encourage you through prayer? Have
you ever been thankful for an answered prayer? Have
you ever been a part of a group that encourages
and lifts each other in prayer? YOU are
invited to be a part of the prayer chain at Northbrook. It
is so simple and requires little time. Contact
me at julieturner@mindspring.com and
let me know you want to be added to our group
and you will receive perhaps one or two emails
per week with prayer requests. As soon
as you receive one, take a few minutes to
pray for this person or situation. It will
be a blessing to you and others. |
