Are you just coming to Northbrook, or are you coming to CONNECT? CONNECT is a different kind of women’s ministry, coming this fall to Northbrook. CONNECT is about being bold, getting real, and talking with other Christian women about what really matters to you. It’s about renewing your connections to God, Northbrook, other women, and yourself. If you’re married, single, or somewhere in between…if you’re a woman with children older than preschool age...join us in launching this life-changing ministry that will include dynamic speakers and inspiring conversation. More info coming soon.

Think of a time when you really felt cared for. Chances are someone focused on what you had to say, was attentive to your needs, and listened to how you felt instead of telling you how you should feel or what you should do. While being a Stephen Minister requires commitment of time and effort, it also brings joy and fulfillment. It may be one of the most rewarding challenges you will ever embrace. In addition, you will use the skills you learn not only in your caring ministry but in your daily life. A new training class for Stephen Ministers begins September 10th. If you feel you could be the person giving care to a person in crisis, please contact Rev. Melinda Jones 770-998-2000 ext. 242.

The Women's Book Club will meet July 1st at 7:30 p.m. in Room 211 at the church. For the month of June we'll read Mornings on Horseback by David McCullough. Our book to read for July is Walking Across Egypt by Clyde Edgerton (a humorous book). For more information, contact Delia Halverson at 770-926-1634 or halversondelia@bellsouth.net.

Have you ever been in a desperate situation and needed someone to encourage you through prayer?  Have you ever been thankful for an answered prayer?  Have you ever been a part of a group that encourages and lifts each other in prayer?  YOU are invited to be a part of the prayer chain at Northbrook.  It is so simple and requires little time.  Contact me at julieturner@mindspring.com and let me know you want to be added to our group and you will receive perhaps one or two emails per week with prayer requests.  As soon as you receive one, take a few minutes to pray for this person or situation.  It will be a blessing to you and others.

Furniture Donations Welcomed Due to limited storage, Northbrook no longer has a furniture bank. If you have gently used furniture or working appliances to donate, please call Phil Hodges with North Fulton Community Charities at 770-640-0399. Phil will pick up your furniture and it will be sold in NFCC’s Thrift Shop. Proceeds from sales are used to fund the many services NFCC provides to their clients in North Fulton.
